Galium album

Common name: Hedge Bedstraw
Scientific name: Galium album
Genus: Galium 拉拉藤屬, 豬殃殃屬
Family: Rubiaceae 茜草科, coffee, madder or bedstraw family

A decumbent to erect plant, can reach up to 120 cm. Inflorescence axillary. (vs erect, unbranched plant. Inflorescence a terminal panicle in Galium ordoratum 香豬殃殃, 香車葉草, 車軸草, Woodruff)


Leaves 5-8 per whorl.
 

Leaves linear-obovate, mucronate (with apical point), margins with forward-directed prickles. (vs leaves blunt or acute, not mucronate in Galium sterneri, limestone bedstraw, and Galium pumilum, slender bedstraw.)

Leaves 1-veined, 5-8 in a whorl. (vs leaves 3-veined, 4 per whorl in Galium boreale 北方拉拉藤, Northern bedstraw)

Stems 4-angled.

Flower white, 4 petals. Corolla lobes with fine points.  (vs flowers yellow in Galium verum 蓬子菜, lady's bedstraw)

Fruits smooth to wrinkled.
