Glechoma hederacea 金錢薄荷, 連錢草, 歐活血丹, 大馬蹄草, 虎咬黃

Genus: Glechoma 活血丹屬
Family:  Lamiaceae or Labiatae 唇形科, mint or deadnettle or sage family

Remarks:

Origin: native

Date: 5th April


A perennial plant, can reach to 30 cm tall.




Leaves long-stalked.


Lead blade kidney-shaped.



Flowers inflorescence arranged in whorls.



Calyx with 5 distinct teeth. (vs calyx with 10 teeth in Marrubium spp. 歐夏至草屬 and calyx of 2 entire lips in Scutellaria spp.黃芩屬)


Lips are of different shape and color pattern in different plants. (Look at the flower of this photo and the following photos.)


Stamens 4. (vs stamens 2 in Salvia spp. 鼠尾草屬)

Stamens not protruding beyond corolla.  (vs at least the longest pairs of stamens protruding beyond corolla in Origanum spp. 牛至屬 and Thymus spp. 百里香屬)

Corolla of 2 unequal toothed lobes or lips.
(vs corolla of 4 almost equal lobes in Mentha spp. 薄荷屬 (stamens 4)and Lycopus spp.地荀屬 (stamens 2))
