Scientific name: Plantago coronopus 芹葉車前草
Genus: Plantago 車前草屬
Family: Plantaginaceae 車前科, plantain family

A pubescent annual to perennial plant. Inflorescence stalk to 20 cm; spikes to 4 cm.


A rosette of leaves.


Leaves variable, linear, entire to toothed or deeply divided. (Deeply divided in the above photo)



This plant is gynodioecious (雌花兩性花異株的). (having a mixture of hermaphrodite flowers on some plants and only female flowers on other plants.) 


Hermaphrodite flowers. Male phase of the flowers now. Petals 4, stamens yellow.


Female phase of the flowers for this spike. Styles are protruding from the flowers now.
