Remarks*: It is a root parasite on species of Alnus 榿木屬 (alder), 赤楊屬, Salix 柳屬 (willow, sallow or osier) and Populus 楊屬 (poplar, aspen or cottonwood).
Origin: Neotype (established after 1500 AD). It is a suboceanic Temperate species, native to Belgium, France, Spain and Italy. It was introduced around 1888 and was reported from the wild in 1908.
