It has sepals fringed with orange margin, petals not fringed with glandular hairs whereas the similar species, Lysimachia punctata 具點金色珍珠菜, 點綴珍珠菜, 班點珍珠菜, the Dotted Loosestrife, has petals fringed with glandular hairs and all green sepals.
The flower is smaller than the similar species, Lysimachia punctata, the Dotted Loosestrife. (8-15 mm across vs 25 mm across.)
