Lysimachia punctata 具點金色珍珠菜, 點綴珍珠菜, 班點珍珠菜

Common name: Dotted Loosestrife
Scientific name: Lysimachia punctata 具點金色珍珠菜, 點綴珍珠菜, 班點珍珠菜
Genus: Lysimachia 珍珠菜屬
Family: Primulaceae 報春花科, primrose family

Origin: Neophyte (established after 1500 AD). It is a native of S.E. & E.C. Europe and W. Asia. east to Iran and the Caucasus. Is has been cultivated in British gardens since 1658. It was record in the wild in 1853.

A tall erect, pubescent plant, can reach up to 1.2 m.


It has petals fringed with glandular hairs and all green sepals whereas the similar local species, Lysimachia vulgaris 毛黃連花, the Yellow Loosestrife, has petals not fringed and sepals with orange margin. 


Flowers is larger than the similar local species, Lysimachia vulgaris, the Yellow Loosestrife. (25 mm across vs 8-15 mm across.)
