Family: Papaveraceae 罌粟科, poppy family
Origin: Neophyte (established after 1500 AD). It is a native of the southern foothills of the S.W. & C. Alps. It as being grown in Britain by 1596 and was recorded in the wild in 1796.
Remarks*: It was formerly placed in Fumariaceae 苞包牡丹科, fumitory, fumewort or bleeding-heart family. The APG IV system of 2016 included the Fumariaceae within the Papaveraceae 罌粟科, poppy family.
