Status: Widespread throughout UK. It is native to the forests of the Caucasus and Black Sea coasts. It is an effective feeder on mould and algae.

Status: Very widespread. It is omnivores and is a useful composters of dead plant matter, food waste and pet faces. However, it also attack tender parts of plants and seedlings.

Exposure adjusted so that striped foot fringe could be seen. It is said that it is darker and duller than the body sides.

Active crawling acroos a rock in a damp day. Tubercles large and coarse.

Sluggish and move slowly.
