Limacus maculatus 綠地窖蛞蝓、愛爾蘭黃蛞蝓

Common name: Green Cellar Slug, Irish Yellow Slug
Scientific name: Limacus maculatus 綠地窖蛞蝓、愛爾蘭黃蛞蝓
Genus: Limacus
Family: Limacidae 蛞蝓科, keelback slugs, short-keeled slugs
Order: Stylommatophora 柄眼目, air-breathing land snails and slugs
Class: Gastropoda 腹足網, slugs and snails

Status: Widespread throughout UK. It is native to the forests of the Caucasus and Black Sea coasts. It is an effective feeder on mould and algae.

Family: Amaranthaceae 莧科, amaranth family

Remarks*: It is previously belonged to Chenopodiaceae 藜科, goosefoot family. It is then moved to Chenopodioideae 藜亞科 in Amaranthaceae in the APG III system.
