Parnassia palustris 梅花草

Common name: Grass-of-Parnassus
Scientific name: Parnassia palustris 梅花草
Genus: Parnassia 梅花草屬*
Family: Family: Celastraceae 衛矛科, spindle tree, staff tree, staff vine, bittersweet family

Remarks*: It is formerly placed in Parnassiaceae 梅花草科, grass-of-parnassus family or Saxifragaceae 虎耳草科, saxifrage family. When the APG III system was published in 2009, Parnassiaceae was treated as subfamily Parnassioideae 梅花草亞科 of an expanded family of Celastraceae.

333  5 white petals 7-12mm, 5 yellowish staminodes  (sterile stamens), 5 stamens with anthers folding towards the center now.

340 5 large distinctive yellowish staminodes (sterile stamens), the five stamens had the anthers dropped already, revealing the style and the yellow stigma inside.
