Common name: Petty Spurge
Scientific name: Euphorbia peplus 南歐大戟, 荸艾類大戟, 小大戟

Family: Euphorbiaceae 大戟科, spurge family
Origin: Archaeophyte (established before 1500 AD.) It has a European Southern-temperate distribution.
Date: 21st Sept
A young plant, but still has a cyathium (the condensed inflorescence in Euphorbia) at the top of the stem. Leaves are ovate-obovate and short-stalked.
Just below each cyathium is a pair of leaf-like bracts (small greenish-yellow structures in the above photo)
A cyathium (the condensed inflorescence in Euphorbia) with four crescent-shaped glands (like horns of a cow)
The female flower has already changed to a capsule hanging down from the cyathium.
Within the cyathium, two stamens, each with two yellow anthers, which are actually two male flowers are found. One female flower (changing to a capsule?) with three styles is also found hanging down from the cyathium.
